Finally, we have sorted out the details of our viewing party. In fact, we are joining the alumni of USC to watch the game together. We heard that they are having a big crowd that day. So, it would be nice for each of us to see them weeping when our team beats theirs (at least, that's what we hope). Now, here are the details:

Date: January 5, 2006
Time: 9am HKT (Kickoff at the same time)
Venue: McKay's Bar, The American Club Hong Kong (Town Club) (49/F, Exchange Square II, Central, Hong Kong)

Fee: Buy your own drinks and donations welcomed

We are expecting at least 20 Texas Exes in the party. A few alumni from overseas will probably join us, too. We know that the day is a working day but it is, as one alumnus put, a once-in-a-lifetime experience to see our team play in the national championship game (maybe an exaggeration). Go to work late; take the day off; pretend to be sick... Just be there to support your school!

Subject: HKTX: Texas won Big 12 Title and Rose Bowl Viewing Party Jan 5 830am

Dear Hong Kong Texas Exes,

This morning when I woke up, the first thing I did was to check the score of the Big 12 title game. Texas (#2, 12-0, 8-0 Big 12) beat Colorado (7-5, 5-3) again this year by 70 to 3. That's right! We won the Big 12 title with a 12-0 record, which mean this season is our first undefeated regular season since 1983. With that, we are going to play in the Rose Bowl again, two times in a row. But this time, it is more important because the game is for the National Championship title. Our opponent will be USC (#1, 12-0, 8-0 Pac 10), the champion of last year.

The Rose Bowl game will be played January 4, 2006, 5pm PST, which is 9am HKT the next day. As in our schedule, Hong Kong Texas Exes will organize a bowl game viewing party for our fellow Longhorns. So, please mark your calendar for this event:

The game is not only about football. The prize money of this game is multi-million dollars and that is going to contribute something positive to our school. Last year, we had a great party. Our alumni had a chance to meet current students who came back to Hong Kong for the holiday seasons. It is a great chance to meet our fellow Horns.
